Description
The 620R is the first car in its class to offer true motorsport credentials in a fully street-legal car. The limited edition coupé - only 225 of them were built instead of the 350 planned beforehand. As it was free to choose a build number, they did allow numbers up to number 350 this therefore concerns number 328 delivers race specification of the McLaren 570S GT4 for race car experience on the track or on public roads; it looks like a race car, steers like a race car, performs like a race car and feels like a race car.
The 620R has the M838TE 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine from the GT4, but with a significant difference in power. As there are no restrictive racing regulations for the 620R, the engine ECU and turbocharger management have been reprogrammed. The engine produces 620 hp. Engine torque is 620 Nm and performance is impressive: from 0-100 km/h takes 2.9 seconds and 0-200 km/h goes in 8.1 seconds. Top speed is 320 km/h.
The adjustable carbon-fibre rear wing comes from the 570S GT4. It has been raised by 32 cm to increase downforce and minimise drag. Customers receive their car with the wing set to the least aggressive position of the three available angles, optimising the balance between front and rear for road driving. The more aggressive positions – which can be set by us – increase the downforce even further, up to a maximum of 185 kg and enable even faster lap times. Downforce at the front of the car is further increased by small strips. They contribute up to 40 kg of downforce as part of the 65 kg provided by the full front aero package.
In addition, this particular appearance is the in recognisable McLaren Orange delivered including the by race inspired livery. Also, this 620R comes with the R-Pack which includes the carbon exterior and the Roofscoop, which is a must for the 620R.
The interior of the 620R has no carpets or glovebox. Air conditioning, IRIS navigation and an audio system are also missing from the standard specification, although all features can be chosen at no extra cost. A lightweight audio system from Bowers & Wilkins is available as an option. Driver and passenger are held in the super lightweight carbon racing seats by six-point racing belts. Important ‘track touchpoints’ are the red markings on the steering wheel to make the steering position clear and the loops to close the doors. A McLaren Track Telemetry (MTT) system is standard and displays its informative on the centrally mounted 7-inch touchscreen.
