Ayrton Senna once said: “You think you have a limit. But as soon as you reach that limit, something happens; you can suddenly push yourself a little further.” As far as we are concerned, these words sum up the McLaren, named after the legendary racing driver, perfectly. The McLaren Senna personifies McLaren at its most extreme. It is legalised for road use, but really comes into its own on the track.
The Senna is the lightest McLaren road car since the iconic F1 and is equipped with the most powerful internal combustion engine McLaren has ever used in such a car: a 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 with an output of 800 HP and a torque of 800Nm. The result is a staggering 668 PK per 1,000 kilo, which enables the car to go from zero to two hundred in 6.8 seconds, with a top speed of 340 kilometres per hour. The steering of the Senna is even more responsive than the McLaren P1 GTR. The exceptional aerodynamic performance in Race-mode generates a downforce of at least 800 kg at a speed of 250 km/h. It is clear: the McLaren Senna lives up to its name. Ayrton would have been proud.
