Description
In March 2016, Rolls-Royce unveiled the Black Badge variant of the successful Ghost. The epitome of pure luxury style and technical substance. Technically and aesthetically, Black Badge is the sportier, younger version of the Rolls-Royce Ghost: darker, more assertive, more confident and more powerful. The first thing that is noticeably different about the Black Badge is the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy figurine, which is finished in gloss black. Several exterior parts, including the Rolls-Royce badges, are also black, while the chrome surfaces of the car have also been given a darker shade. Very recognizable for the Black Badge are the composite carbon fibre alloy wheels with aluminium hubs.
Inside, the Black Badge is equipped with sporty carbon fibre composite panels, darkened air vents and a bespoke clock in the centre. The Ghost’s 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12 has been boosted to almost 600 hp, while torque has increased to 780 Nm. The car’s eight-speed automatic transmission also gets a sportier set-up, allowing the Ghost to hold the lower gears longer and downshift more easily than before. Other technical changes to the Ghost Black Badge models included adjustments to the steering and suspension, including new driveshafts. As Rolls-Royce itself said at the time, the Ghost Black Badge was still the most luxurious and comfortable limousine, with that little bit of extra focus on the driver.
This particular example is highly specified. In addition to the items such as the Top View camera, Adaptive Led Headlights, Head Up Display, Night Vision and the adaptive assistance systems, this Ghost Black Badge also has active seats with heating, ventilation and massage function, both in the front and the rear. In the back we also see the folding tables with TV screens and in the center armrest there is even a refrigerator hidden! The starlight headliner gives the finishing touch!
