It is well known that the Morgan Plus 8 is a special car. But the Plus 8 that we offer here is unique! This car was traded in by us a few years ago and thoroughly overhauled and modified by our experienced Morgan mechanic Simon Verhoeven to make the car extremely suitable for driving (tour) rallies. In the end it resulted in a complete restoration, including the interior with new seats, a dashboard painted in body color, checker plate floor parts and a professional roll-bar. The car was painted in Morgan Sport Orange, something completely different from the classic British Racing Green of course, but it looks incredibly good on the Morgan. And very recently a new mohair roof was custom made, in case you might want to close the car...
The classic rear leaf springs have been replaced by the 5-link Suspension with coil springs. This makes the handling tighter, especially in corners, and also more comfortable. Supplemented with Suplex front suspension, which make the car less bouncy, handling has been greatly improved. The brakes received a major update, including the rear drums being replaced by discs and an improved braking system was also mounted at the front. We have mounted a sports exhaust and special stainless steel exhaust manifolds, resulting in a great engine sound. In combination with a complete engine overhaul, in addition of which various new technical components were useed, such as an Edelbrock carburetor and aluminum radiator, the car is completely up to date, without affecting the special and unique Morgan character. The engine power increased significantly and therefore a stronger close ratio gearbox was chosen.
All in all, this is a truly unique Morgan Plus 8 with upgrades that you rarely see. To prepare such a car, a multiple of the price of this Morgan is needed, so if you are looking for that rally car, this is your chance!
