Description
There are cars’s that evoke admiration, and there are cars’s that revolutionise. The Lamborghini Countach belongs to the latter category. When it was unveiled in the ’70s, it seemed to come straight from the future: a sharp wedge shape, dramatic wing doors and a design that broke all conventions. It was not an evolution, it was a revolution.
This example is an LP400 S Series II, a version that took the Countach to a new level. Only 105 Series II models ever left the factory, and this version brought subtle but crucial improvements: wider Pirelli P7 tyres for more grip, a modified suspension for better handling and a slightly lower ride height that further emphasised its aggressive stance. It is the perfect balance between the pure lines of the early LP400 and the functionality of the later models.
The bodywork is finished in the original Lamborghini colour Argento Metallizzato, an elegant silver-grey hue that adds to the sharp lines of Marcello Gandini’s masterpiece. Combined with the iconic wing doors and classic Campagnolo rims, this is a sculpture on wheels, a car that exudes speed even standing still.
The interior is a time capsule of Italian craftsmanship. Black leather, hand-finished, surrounds a cockpit entirely focused on the driver. No digital screens, no electronic assistants, just pure mechanics and a direct connection between man and machine.
Under the bonnet lies the heart of this legend: an atmospheric 3.9-litre V12, good for 370 hp. An engine that not only delivers performance: 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 264 km/h, but also produces a sound that evokes pure emotion. It is a symphony of mechanical perfection, an experience that modern supercars rarely offer anymore.
With only 237 LP400 S models produced and an odometer reading of 65,246 km, this is a rare opportunity to own one of the most desirable Countachs ever.
